February 2002 Contest
Some may say that February is the month for lovers. Or for
dead presidents. But we here at Anime on DVD feel that February is for
giving you the creeps and making sure you don't sleep right at night.
Sponsored by Right Stuf, we've got a really neat prize this month!
The box set release of Boogiepop Phantom is a pretty highly anticipated
release for the 1st quarter of 2002. While those who could not wait and
have been buying it volume by volume are getting a bi-monthly fix of
creepy anime horror, you can win the whole shebang right here!
We've got four box sets to give away for February, and we're
going to do one a week till the end of the month. You can enter all four
contests, but you can only win once. We try to gear the contests to
different strengths, so most people only enter ones they're good at.
Please be sure to read the rules for each contest:
Contest 1: The simplest and easiest of the
contests, this is your basic random email drawing. Send your email in
with your name, address to
boogiepop1@animeondvd.com. This contest ends on 02/07/2002 @ 8
pm EST
Contest 2: Some folks say they'll do anything
for anime. To what extremes will you go for anime? Tell us what you've
done in the past as well as what you would do in the future to get
your fix! Send your email in with your name, address and entry to
boogiepop2@animeondvd.com.
This contest ends on 02/14/2002. @ 8 pm EST
Contest 3: With the Boogiepop Phantom box sets
coming with a CD containing a couple tracks of music, some fans are
going to want to put this in a regular jewel case. Come up with a
jewel case sized design for a cover! Send your email in with your
name, address and artwork to
boogiepop3@animeondvd.com. This contest ends on 02/21/2002 @ 8
pm EST

pictures of Right Stuf producer Jeff Thompson and build a shrine to
him on the web. Send in your email with your name, address and URL to
the shrine you created to
boogiepop4@animeondvd.com. This contest ends on 02/28/2002 @ 8

What I have done to get anime:
My friend once told me she would give me her Macross LD if I would strip
naked and run through the freezing snow, plop down in it and make a snow
angel... needless to say I cuddled close to a fire while watching the
Macross LD that night.
As fun as that was it can't top this one:
I traded my car (a 92 Mazda B-2200) for the entire Rurouni Kenshin LD box
set.
Of course that doesn't compare to the following:
You know those candies that come in a vile that are like super pixie
sticks? They make some of them that fizz up in your mouth when you eat
them. I really wanted to buy the Trigun Box set but I was about $20 bucks
short, so he bet me $20 bucks I wouldn't be willing to snort the fizzy
kind. Yes, I did. Yes, I ended up in the hospital. Yes, I bought the
Trigun Box set. Yes, it was worth it.
What I would do in the future:
I dunno, I haven't really found the limits of my stupidity yet but I'm
open to suggestions. Surprisingly I haven't tried breaking into an anime
shop yet... that certainly would be a lot easier.
