November 2002 Contest

The folks at Right Stuf have been overly gracious with us for this contest with their latest release. With His & Her Circumstances due out in early December, they've sent us twenty copies of the second volume to give away.

We're going to make this very easy to enter and go with the random drawing method with a little effort. Send us an email at *removed*  and tell us whether you'd like to be Yukino or Arima and why! Send it along with your name and address, so that if you do win when we randomly pull winners on the date below, we can ship it off the next day. Entries without addresses are discarded and a new winner is picked.

Entries will be accepted through 11/14/2002 @ Noon pm PT

The fine print: All entries become the property of AnimeonDVD.com and may be used in any promotional way. Contestants email addresses will not be given out to anyone. AnimeonDVD.com reserves the right to cancel or alter the contest at any time due to circumstances, however this is highly unlikely so fear not. AnimeonDVD.com reserves the right to add rules at any time.

And the winners are: (caution, potential spoilers!)
  1. Lorraine Walker - I would rather be Yukino because she seems to be an adaptable person. When Arima blew her cover, she was able to continue functioning at her previous level (well almost). I see her future as being very bright. I also think she will eventually be able to blend her 2 personas successfully.
  2. Kori Handwerker - Who would I LIKE to be? Maybe Yukino, but I already am for the most part. I wallow in praise with my 4.4 GPA and A+ average, sitting contently at the top of my class. I guess being any more like Yukino would be depressing, and I'd take the rest of it only if I could fall in love with an "Arima" that
shunned me from my position. That's why I love KareKano, I see so much of myself in her!
  3. Chris Arce -  think I'd like to be Arima (cuz I'm a guy and it would be weird if I picked Yukino). anyways, yeah, he's cool.
  4. Tresha Pepito - Why I'd like to be Yukino: Besides being smart and popular, she has her own followers. Who wouldn't want that? ^_^ But mostly because she has Arima.
  5. Jeff Barron - Souichirou Arima is the greatest ladies' man in anime history. He is the only guy at school that receives the chance to date the most popular girl, Yukino Miyazawa. If I could be any anime character, it would be Arima. Although I am a ladies' man myself, I am not nearly as good as Arima. If I could be Arima, I would dominate all competition at my school. Therefore, that is my reasoning for wanting to be Arima.
  6. Kristen Pulczinski - I'd like to be Yukino because then I could wear a super-short skirt and never have anything show. Being Arima's girlfriend is a plus too.
  7. Albert S. Fisher - I'd like to be Arima because he is good at sports and intelligent, a great mix.
  8. Yussef Garcia - I like Arima the most, because his life seems too
    close to mine..
  9. Laura Schumacher - I'd rather be Yukino because she's crazy.
  10. Kevin LaMontagne - I'd rather be Arima, because he seems to be a lot more laid back and less hyper than Yukino, and yet still gets good grades, I need good grades.
  11. Earl Gertwagen - I'd have to be Arima, hands down. What straight man wouldn't want to go to a high school where the females wear such short skirts and sexy black leggings?! :D
  12. James McFarland - Yukino. Why pick a female character when I am a male? Well, it's simple. Yukino's name begins with the letter "Y." Now, "Y" is the 26th letter of the English Alphabet. and 6+2 is 8. And 8 is equivalent to 7+1. And of course, as everyone knows, 7 is the number of perfection in Hebrew numerology, and 1 is the number of the individual. Thus taken together "7 and 1" equals "perfect individual." Therefore, Yukino is a "perfect individual." And though I like Arima, I'd prefer to be a perfect individual any day of the week!
  13. Eric Schmidt - If I had a choice, I would be Arima, because if I was Yukino, that would mean that I would be getting some of Arima's brand of sweet loving. Now, being a guy, that is something that I am not too thrilled about.
  14. Monica Leon - I would like to be like Arima because when I was in school I was too much like Yukino. It's very tiring trying to keep up pretenses just so that you could be considered part the "smart club." I like the way Arima can be a bit more relaxed about things. Not to mention that academics came so easily to him. He hardly has to study.
  15. Michael Dunagan - My name is Michael Dunagan, and I would have to say Arima, ofcourse since I'm a guy I wouldn't choose to be a girl, but I like his character because he reminds me a lot of me...except for the perfect grades and best athlete of course, but I always try to keep my personality so perfect and I'm always polite, and I lock my feelings away only for me to know about, and as in the movie I have found the only person that I begin to share myself with is my girl who is a friend (who just like Yukino hasn't decided on telling me whether she loves me or not, she says she just doesn't know cause she has a defense mechanism thingy, or something like that preventing her from feeling. I think she needs some self-confidence. She hasn't seen Kare Kano yet, but I plan to fly to meet her for the first time soon, and I'm gonna make her watch it when I go up there...anyways back to me wanting to be Arima) because she is so similar to me, and I do have a natural ability to
be pretty good at everything I do, not perfect but, I'm great at just about all video games, I'm pretty good(not perfect) at just about all sports, except football, ofcourse they don't have football in Japan, only soccer...moving on, I'm also very deviously nice like when Arima blackmailed her just to have excuse to talk to her more, well I do stuff like that alot to Karen(my girl who is a friend) just to get her to admit to something ^_^ it feels so great, lol but she just replies "your sooo mean..~_~..goober..=P."
In a way though, I too need to make good grades, to make my uncle and aunt proud, my rich uncle who used to work for some big bank in Dallas, says he will pay for my junior and senior year of college for whatever college I go to after I get out of junior college. I hope I can do as good in school as Arima does. On an off note, my father passed away this summer, a bit unexpected, but thats part of life. I really hope that things work out between me and Karen, I really love her a lot, and I'm risking a lot on going to see her, but I think she's worth it, even if we only stay friends (heh which reminds me of the seen at the train when she is worried
about admitting her love and thinks they can just stay as friends, I hope thats all that is wrong with her.) I still love her.
  16. Brian Tsu - I would like to be Arima because he is not SO LONELY like me.
  17. Larry Pereira - I  would love to be Arima. Getting to date Yukino alone is worth the price of admission, but being in a show directed by Hideaki Anno would be pretty interesting in itself.
  18. Michael Rogowski - Oh, I'd like to be Arima, because if I was I'd be much younger than I am right now and in Japan as a smart, popular guy in school with a pre-destined girlfriend, and being an anime character like that would be cool. ^_^
  19. Alyssa Perkins - Hmmm...I think it can be put very simply: I'd like to be Yukino...because she gets Arima! He is sooo kawaii and such a sweetie! :-)
  20. Lee Danforth - I would be like Yukino! Praised and loved at school (In the first volume at least) and at home has a loving family. Not to mention that she gets to lay around her house in plain, comfy clothes, something that I doubt Arima gets to do. Who wouldn't want to be Yukino?
