Natsumi decides that she's going to make it to her first day of work somewhere near the time she's scheduled ... and that means breaking about every traffic law in the city. What's to stop her? why ... officer Miyuki (she's about as omnipresent as Big Brother) of course!
The first of four boxes, You're Under Arrest TV finally starts hitting the DVD format, causing much rejoicing.
Packaging:
Presented in a nice hard box, similar to the Macross and Orange Road boxes, You're Under Arrest has a nice subtle but slightly flashy looking piece of packaging. The front features the English logo along with the handcuffs in silver set against the grayish blue that the rest of the box is. The spine features the silhouette of our two leads with the box numbering below them while the back features each disc listing and the episode numbers and titles for each volume in the set. The bottom of the box features all of the technical information about the set.
Extras:
Included with the box is an entire disc of extras. This disc is packaged in its own keepcase and features the same layout and designs of the regular series. The amusing part is thta the cover artwork used for this particular volume has the super deformed verison of the two girls in their tiny police car, which is just far too cute.
There's a lot of material here, though it's not something that's going to appeal completely to both sides of fandom. The line art galleries are monstrous. Set into four categories with each one playing to music, the total runtime is about twenty-two minutes, which means hundreds of pieces of conceptual artwork here. The character designs one is pretty much my favorite of the batch though.
The color art galleries are gorgeous, with lots of shots from various things over the years as well as some cel artwork. What's really nice about some of these images, such as a large cast shot, is that they provide follow-up shots of the same image but zoomed in so you can see the smaller details of things such as a poster or a particular cel. There's some really gorgeous artwork throughout this segment.
The final big extra here is the Behind the Scenes footage, which takes a large amount of the English cast from Coastal Studios and shows them at work on the show. Like a lot of dub production extras, it does a solid job of showing both the hard work of voice work as well as the fun side of things. With a total runtime of almost seventy minutes, there's a lot of footage here, with some really amusing moments. Hopefully in the future they'll have some more one on one sessions with individual members, the director or just some group sessions about the show.

From the main menu, move the cursor right until the trash can is highlighted and press enter.Enter '8675309' on the keypad. You'll get a couple computer graphics saying that you've found an easter egg and then a clip sequence from the show. All in Japanese without subs, so I don't know if it's some clever arrangement of clips or just random. Submitted by Jim Lazar.
