Forum Buzz

Here we go again. Back from a convention, have news from 2 of them,
some new announcements made this week, lots of opinions flying back and
forth about the latest discs to hit the market... This is how a forum
should be! (regardless of whether you guys deprive me of all my sleep
while I'm reading this stuff!)
Everything to Everyone
There's soooo much con news, I'm not going to bother re-posting it this
week. Instead, gonna move right to the important parts - The summary of
events this week
Whether real on or on DVD - Girls take all your money
After Chris posted a very positive review of ADV's upcoming Princess
Nine disc, a few forum members got together to curse his very name. The
excitement about this disc really seems to be increasing weekly, and the
impressions we'll see when the disc finally gets in everyone's hands
should be interesting.
Male, Female... Blue?
A review regarding the Blue Gender dub was posted to the forum over the
weekend, and ended up revealing some details about the Blue Gender DVD
that should put some minds at rest. Original openings and endings are in
there, as are the original eyecatches. The dub has redone versions of the
opening and ending, but the originals are present on the Japanese audio
track.
CHRIS-BEVERIDGE
Lots of name calling and finger pointing over registered trademarks of
names. End result of discussion: Everyone has agreed to spell Tokyopop and
Synch-Point anyway they want. Just like it was before :P
Let's go fly a kite...
Kite: Director's Cut DVD 1/29/2002. DVD version of the less-cut Kite
VHS that came out earlier in 2001
*bounce*
Despite the lack of any fanfare, CPM has licensed the 4 episode OAV
Geobreeders 2. Being the huge fan of Geobreeders I am, I just felt I had
to mention this despite the fact that it is mentioned on the main page.
Are you the Gatekeeper?
Early impressions of the Gatekeepers DVD seem to be pretty good. The
pack-in extra is "Earth Defense Licenses". DVD Extras include: Special
Prologue, Special Ending, Non Credit Opening and Ending, and TV
commercials. Neat reversible cover
X: not just a common mathematical variable
The DVD is out on the streets, but what does everyone think? The
opinions on content are all over, but people do agree that it's a pretty
horrible dubbing job. Technical job on DVD seems ok, though it's not
anamorphic.
As if Evangelion wasn't confusing enough..
Evangelion boxes, box set. The only known details right now are that
the remastered Vol 1 will be available with a box. Buying this box + disc
will be the only way to get the remastered Vol 1 for now. When the stock
of original volume 1s is depleted, they will be replaced with the
remastered disc.
Blurred Image... made clean
CPM is looking into remastering a number of their titles that were
released under sub-license from Image Entertainment. While we already knew
about Project A-ko and La Blue Girl, forum posts have indicated that Iria,
Big Wars, Twin Angels, Roujin Z, Harmageddon, and Lodoss OVA are up for a
possible remaster.
Big Numbers:

Number of anime cons that should be allowed in a weekend: 1

Quote of the week: (1-p)^4 + 4* p * (1-p)^3 = 0.95 -quen
Amazingly enough, this already marks a month that I've been writing
this article, and I've only received one piece of hate mail! I guess this
means you all like the job I'm doing. Starting next week, I'll go ahead
and start linking to an archive of the articles, and I'll be writing
'Forum Buzz' weekly, without fail.
Thanks for the support everyone!
