5/28/03 Edition
From the desk of da Original S Man:
New week, same day. New logo is up and will probably be ever changing. I
know a more then a few would like to see Divi-chan as a race queen.
asagiri2040: Why do you bring that up?
Because the people demand it!
asagiri2040: Only because you started it. =P
I'm not the one who suggested Divi-chan going au naturel.
asagiri2040: Don't you have a database to be working on? ;-)
Probably, but I always have time to tease you and workout the coding for
all of this. Anyway, enjoy this week's Buzz everyone. |
From the desk of asagiri2040:
One Divi-chan down and apparently a few dozen to go. I do hope everyone
enjoys Spring Divi-chan.S Man: And get your
requests in soon for the next few. =)
Don't you dare tell them that. When did I become the site artist?
S Man: Yet again, I point out: I never mentioned the site. ;-)
Yeah.. well.. whatever. Let's start this thing already before you cause
more trouble. |

Witch Hunter Robin
People cheered when Bandai announced the license, but now that a price and some
scant details (albeit tentative ones) regarding the volume 1 + box + extras
combo have made their way onto the net, the cheering isn’t quite as unequivocal.
The lack of a simple volume 1 + box combo is distressing to some, while the lack
of immediate info on the extra contents of the box is distressing to others
(although not quite as seriously). Contribute your own brand of nonsense in
these threads!

SMJ Ultimate Collection – only 5000 to be made
In an incredible fit of collector’s insanity, Bandai has made the decision to
limit their upcoming Saber Marionette J Collection to 5000 copies, with each one
bearing the signature of Tsukasa Kotobuki, the series character designer. The
biggest issue seems to be potential availability, although Jerry Chu has
mentioned the possibility of direct allocation to certain online retailers. The
other usual recommendations and box/collection issues have been raised as well.

Love Hina Again “movie”
Just one word, and the fans go crazy! The standard off-the-cuff comments were
thrown about, and then Jerry stepped in to reassure everyone that “movie” was
not indicative of editing. However, it’s still interesting how a simple
marketing decision can justify calling a set of three episodes a “movie”. That
said, where’s that movies box announcement!

Noir Opinions
If any show were the embodiment of the “love it or hate it” concept, Noir would
be it. Middle ground? The fans know not this concept when it comes to Noir.
Clever, stylish, and sexy? Or dry, repetitive, and flawed? Step into the
minefield and tell everyone why you love it or hate it!

Worship the power of a woman in a kimono for a 2nd time
Forum poster and AYA fan "jupiterstar" has posted up some news which has made
everyone happy so far: Ai Yori Aoshi will have a second season. Titled "Ai yori
Aoshi ~ Enishi ~", the series will be taking place one year after the first
season (currently being released by Pioneer Entertianment). And following the
link to Natsume Maya's website (scroll down to May 24th) shows that an
additional special is in the works titled "Aoi Santa no O-hanashi". Spoiler
space has been provided in the thread for those who do not want to possibly ruin
the end of the first series. We know what series many fans will eagerly be
awaiting for Pioneer to announce picking up in the future.

How to dub the Evangelion Director's Cut episodes
After the feedback of how the two Evangelion movie dubs turned out, "Arcturus"
has raised an intresting question of how ADV should approach taking on the DC
version of the TV series they recently licensed. When it comes to Eva, everyone
seems to have an opinion of the "good & bad" of the past and possible future.

Newtype USA June 2003 issue thoughts...
As usual, some bum named "asagiri2040" has gotten ahold of the next issue of
NTUSA before many other people. Time to start weighing in those opinions of how
this issue stacks up against all the others out there. Reviews have been fairly
mixed of late with each new issue expanding coverage to the other topics of life
over the "hardcore" fan it was originally suggested to be aimed at.

All your money are belong to Shawne K.
Another week, another list of TRSI specials for the forum members to dig in to.
Grab early and grab often or you could end up missing on a good, cheap deal
(like a certain person missing The Guyver discs for $14.99 last week *cries*).
And Shawne always keeps an open ear to those items people wouldn't mind seeing
pop up some time in the future...

Save LeVar!
OK, it has nothing to do with anime but I'm sure most people remember a show
called "Reading Rainbow". Unfortunately, it looks like the plug may finally be
pulled on the now twenty year old series. For something that has touched
generations of children over the years, it's heartbreaking that the educational
series hosted by LeVar Burton (Kunta in Roots, Geordi in Star Trek: TNG) may
finally come to an end.

| Jean-Claude Van DAMN, we've already been doing this for a
solid month. As requested, we tried to find some elves to strip for the
magic spell written on their bodies but some ADV people said they were
already covering that sequel. Meanies! At least more Ai Yori Aoshi is
coming. More Aoi-chan is always a good thing. Now only if the Ah! My Goddess
manga could be turned into a very long TV series... |

Crystal
Acids and asagiri2040 can be found not updating his
Rising Sun Alternative website. Macross Zero's second episode is now on DVD
and well worth the wait. Bang Zoom! is dubbing Witch Hunter Robin so that
will easily sell more then a few fans on picking up the title. And forum member
VeG1Ta made it into the winners circle by getting his YUA fan artwork onto
the 3rd bonus disc. Congrats dude.
